[ME] Officer Reininger arrested for armed threatening of his wife

He's out of jail!

Second Maine Police Officer Involved In Domestic Dispute
WMTW, ME
March 20, 2008
The York County sheriff's department said it arrested a part-time Fryeburg police officer earlier this week. Dustin [Shane] Reininger, 35, is charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon. The sheriff's department said Reininger's wife accused him of threatening her with a gun at their home in Lyman. Reininger was taken to the York County jail where he posted $1,000 bail. Reininger's arrest marks the second time this week a Maine police officer has been jailed in connection with a domestic dispute. On Tuesday night, Portland police officer Brian Regan was arrested on charges he assaulted his wife and discharged a gun at their home. (Source)

  4. Dustin [Shane] Reininger, although a turd hasn't been a police officer anywhere for some time. At the time of this recent arrest he has been residing in Rockport, TX for quite awhile.

She even put out a restraining order on him. Now she's the 2nd ex-wife.

  12. Thank you everyone for the support of the two wives. You have no idea what they are dealing with, there is so much more. His main weapon is trying to control their children which is one of the many reasons they are both so fearful of him. They stayed knowing that the children would be alone with him. The courts send kids right back to abusers.

  13. From everything I've read and seen on this person (texas security license info, picture of the firearms at the time of his arrest), it appears that he and people of his ilk have the same issues:

    1. Control Freak
    2. Has Anger Control Issues
    3. Is a "wanna be" SOG member, and probably has never been in the military.
    4. Strong need to show self importance.
    5. Strong need to convince others, of their self importance.
    6. Usually have never held a "real" job for any significant length of time, using others in the long run.

This type of person is pathic and I feel sorry for anyone who has had to deal with him at any level.

  14. Status on his NJ trial? Anyone?

  15. I have had to deal with this guy before. He fills you full of lies about him and how great he is. The truth is out there now we know why we had those feelings.

  16. What's the point? If someone is in trouble why bother throw rocks at them? If people have something relevant to say, ok - but don't just be mean because you are anonymous.

Does anyone out there know the accurate status of his trial?

  18. NJ laws are a bit strange, he was convicted of six to eight charges (depends on which article you're reading, didn't appear for his own trial and has fled.

...Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III and Sheriff Fredrick W. Brown announces that the Joint Hunterdon County Fugitive Task Force arrested...

On Thursday, April 14 th, 2011, and with the help of the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, Dustin Shane Reininger, 37, was taken into custody in Texas by the Galveston County Sheriff’s Department. While out on a $100,000 bail he was convicted on several weapons charges, and has been a fugitive since August, 2010. He now held by Texas authorities awaiting extradition.

The Sheriff and Prosecutor formed this task force to capture defendants that elude the justice system.
