[Excerpts] ...Barone's girlfriend was notified by a school official on Dec. 3, 2008, there were nude photographs of her online. She said some of them were taken the night before by Barone, and the following morning, she and her roommate were at class, and Barone was alone in their dorm room.... A few days later, Barone's EX-girlfriend was notified by the police naked photos of her were also online... During more than a month-long investigation, the owner of the Web site, girlfriendshowoff.com, confirmed the photos found on Dec. 3 were posted from an IP address registered to Barone's girlfriend and posted from her computer that morning. He also confirmed others were posted from a computer with an IP address registered to Barone's Trumbull address. According to the affidavit, the owner of the Web site said whoever owns the e-mail accounts registered to the IP addresses was "seriously obsessed," and was the fifth most frequent user out of 7,000 accounts. One IP address was connected to the e-mail address abarone@ccsu.edu, but Barone said in the affidavit he has not used that e-mail address since his freshman year. He also denied posting any pictures of his current girlfriend or ex-girlfriend and said his computer was hacked into in the spring of 2008... Barone's ex-girlfriend said she never gave Barone permission to post the photos online, and, according to the affidavit, he did "worse things than just post pictures, and one of the two incidents happened at CCSU," but no further information is available... The department is conducting an internal investigation, and Barone is on administrative leave with no power of arrest. "We've initiated an internal affairs investigation," said Lombardo. "Pending that disposition, we will determine his status... As anyone who's accused of any crime, he's entitled to his due process." [Full article here]

  1. This young man is being portrayed as a monster in the media and it is just not who he is. I actually met Andy in college and he really truly is a nice man- and has never made me feel unsafe or put me in harms way. I will have you all know- I was a one time victim of a sex assault when I was much younger and at NO POINT did Mr. Barone ever do anything to me sexually, or even make a pass at me. I really think that the victim in this case is Mr. Barone, and I look forward to him being exonerated.

  2. He didn't come on to YOU so he MUST be innocent? You think very highly of yourself but that's not the way guilt and innocence are decided.

  3. get a real website! this is such a b.s. story. "BEHIND THE BLUE WALL!" what a stupid site! report something that matters. this guy is a good guy and if you take naked pictures or pictures in general you have to expect the worst! so thats the girls fault for doing that! as for the sexual assault lets see how that works out. if you were sexually assaulted why would you still date mr. barone? hmm seems odd to me

  4. You said "let's see how that works out"?
    That's what *I* said.

  5. your an idiot! you can't even spell the guys name right! what a bad site. 6. Truth Be ToldMay 15, 2010

I just came across this site and judging by the last post date, doesn't seem very active. Too bad.

Barone's a scumbag. There's even more to this story that hasn't been made public...

I am assuming "Anonymous" knows this by now and has taken their head out of the sand.

truth be told? what has Mr. Barone ever done to you?? I imagine that your just a lonley prick with nothing else to do than to judge someone before they get their day in court. It's funny how i have know this young man and his family for some time and have never heard a bad thing about them. so good people will win in the end and Andy and his family are a bunch of good people. We love you andy!

  8. Just because you think you know someone doesn't mean you actually do. It actually makes you more blind that you "know" them so well. What daughter wants to believe that her father actually is an alcholic when he is? How long will it take a battered wife to actually admit that her husband is an abusive husband? It's obvious by your blunt anger alone that you are way too attached to this guy and this family to be able to see this story clearly and with an unbias mind to see that it actually a possiblility that he is capable of this. stop calling people pricks and lonely and judgemental. This is a freakin blog, everyone is making judgements here...what did you expect?

  9. The guy is a liar. Needs help and yes I know him

  10. i have known Andy for a few years and I know for a fact that he did not do what they said he did. Ya, do people make mistakes sure, but to accuse someone of Rape is a serious accusation and i am sure he is looking forward to his day in court. The truth will come out

    ReplyDelete
  11. Yes the truth will come out and for sure he will be wearing orange.

    ReplyDelete
  12. the only one wearing orange is going to be this girl who is accusing him. filing a false statement is just as serious. Think twice!

  14. Unfortunately many perpetrators of domestic violence hide behind a publuc or other 'persona'. This makes it doubly difficult to secure a conviction or for victims to report. Usually they suffer for years in silence. People making judgements who havent seen how this person operates behind closed doors are making dangerous assumptions and possibly putting others at risk.

  15. I know this guy, and this really doesn't surprise me. He is a scumbag, and always will be.

  16. All Sexual Assault charges have been dropped! Andy has finally been exonerated so all those stupid people out there certainly look stupid now. Thank you to all who defended Andy because it turns out you were right to stick by him!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Exonerated doesn't mean innocent. People aren't stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Actually people are stupid and you are innocent until proven guilt and clearly guilt was not proven in this case, thus exonerating Andy, but nice try.

  20. That doesn't look like exoneration to me. I'm sure it's not. Birds of a feather...

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hmmm, I dont see anything about sexual assault...look at that, thus exonerating him, especially based on the title of this article.

  22. Finally, justice has been served! Man, I hope his family is well off, because I'm sure having a prison record won't bode well with future employers.

  23. I just read about a bad bad bad NYPD cop who did prison time and now is making $250 to $500 an hour singing Sinatra. Where there is a will, there's a way. I hope good things (changes) for him.

WILTON -- Andrew Barone, a former Wilton police officer from Trumbull, has been sentenced to nine months in prison for one count of first-degree reckless endangerment and four counts of fourth-degree computer crime.

Barone, 23, who was sentenced Feb. 25 in New Britain Superior Court, was arrested on Feb. 13, 2009, after a little over a year on the Wilton police force. He was also given nine years of probation for the multiple Class A misdemeanor charges.

The former Wilton officer was arrested by the Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) Police and originally charged with one count of sexual assault in the second degree, three felony counts of computer crime in the third degree, one count of larceny in the sixth degree and eight breach of peace counts in the second degree.

According to court documents, Barone, his girlfriend at the time and her sister reported they had gone to a party in April 2006, on the campus of Connecticut Central State University (CCSU), where Barone was a student, and that the victim had been drinking.

They also told police Barone and his girlfriend slept in one bed, and the victim was staying in Barone's roommate's bed because he was away for the night.

The victim, who was 16 at the time, said she didn't tell her sister about the alleged assault that occurred that night because her sister was in a long-term relationship with Barone.

The affidavit states Barone does not discredit the victim's story that she was assaulted, but said another person must have entered the room during the night.

The computer crime charges against Barone relate to hundreds of naked pictures of former girlfriends and other women, which were posted online from e-mail addresses and IP addresses allegedly linked to computers owned by Barone.

Barone started with the Wilton Police force in January 2008, and underwent a psychological and polygraph exam as part of the department's investigation of all potential officers.

He reported to CCSU police that "he was asked sexual questions and it (the polygraph test) did not show any signs of deviation."
