WESTMINSTERA Costa Mesa police officer was charged Thursday with hiding a GPS device in a woman's car. Aaron Paul Parsons, 30, of Costa Mesa could be sentenced to a maximum of six months in jail if convicted of misdemeanor unlawful use of an electronic tracking device. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at the West Justice Center in Westminster. Parsons is accused of hiding the GPS device in the 32-year-old woman's car on March 18 and using it to meet her without notice, according to a news release from the Orange County District Attorney's Office. After several such run-ins, the woman became suspicious and checked her car, according to prosecutors. She found the GPS device, which belonged to the Costa Mesa Police Department, and reported it to authorities. Parsons once had a relationship with the woman and was apparently trying to win her back, said district attorney spokeswoman Farrah Emami.  [LINK]
