Wondering why an officer would be charged with "criminal possession of weapon." Something is not being said.

[Excerpts] MONTGOMERY — Town police Friday arrested Roger Roth, a Town of Newburgh police officer, and charged him with assault in a domestic violence incident. Police were called to a dispute early Friday morning at Roth's residence in Montgomery, police Chief Butch Amthor said. Roth is accused of hitting a woman in the face with a drinking glass, police said. She was taken to a hospital and treated for her injuries... After Friday's incident, police charged Roth with second-degree assault, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of weapon and fourth-degree criminal mischief, both misdemeanors. He was arraigned before Justice Fred Gorss and sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail. Gorss also issued an order of protection for the reported victim... [Full article here]

ReplyDeleteHe was convicted. Got fired from the force, but can still collect all of his benefits and disability pay. Crazy dude.
DeleteActually according the the Dcjs website it says he wasn't convicted. Perhaps there is a little more here than people know.
DeleteI wish that people would learn that when things get heated in a domestic type situation they should just leave the house for the night if they are able to do so. And if both are drunk they should call a friend or use a cab.

Roth has a history of shooting dogs. 3 the last time i heard, and that was about 10 years ago.
Deletehe's not law enforcement material, and I'm not surprised to hear of him hitting a woman.
That gag arrested me saying I hit my aunt when I didn't he told me flat out the only reason I'm arresting you is I don't like you I'm happy he gets what he deserves
