Valenciana was fired in February 2009 following an internal affairs investigation, according to the lawsuit she filed last week. She stabbed and killed her ex-fiancé, former Oxnard police Officer Robert Perez, Jr., a few weeks later. Valenciana appealed her firing to the Ventura County Civil Service Commission and the commission upheld her dismissal. Her lawsuit asks a Ventura County Superior Court judge to overturn the Civil Service Commission and order Sheriff Bob Brooks to re-hire her as a deputy. She is also seeking reimbursement for her legal fees and back pay for the period since she was fired... Valenciana’s lawsuit does not disclose the circumstances behind her dismissal, except to state that she was fired for refusing to obey orders and for providing false information in an internal affairs investigation. But in a lawsuit filed in 2008 and dropped shortly afterward, Valenciana said her Sheriff’s Department superiors ordered her to “discontinue any relationship or contact” with Perez or risk being disciplined or fired. The order was based on a Sheriff’s Department rule that prohibits employees from fraternizing or developing personal relationships... http://www.vcstar.com/news/2010/feb/26/former-sheriffs-deputy-sues-county-to-get-job/Behind The Blue Wallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04429113203939514642noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11646417.post-47708023434764699492011-01-15T05:02:08.214-08:002011-01-15T05:02:08.214-08:00I don't know what happened, but the only thing...I don't know what happened, but the only thing that let me post that last comment was "As far as I'm concerned." People can have their opinions - it just seems harsh to label someone when you don't know.Behind The Blue Wallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04429113203939514642noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11646417.post-76404807324107277072011-01-15T01:27:09.808-08:002011-01-15T01:27:09.808-08:00I'm sorry, but I do not believe that s...I'm sorry, but I do not believe that she is the victim here. Also, there is no way in hell she should get her job back as a deputy sheriff, when she knowingly was involved with a serious felon who violated probation, and then had the nerve to ignore the orders from her superiors to stay away from him. I suppose this idiot thinks that the civil service commission will give her the job back, which I hope they do NOT! As far as I'm concerned, she is a murderer hiding behind a badge, and blaming everyone but herself for it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11646417.post-60366528133493998142010-02-21T00:22:19.548-08:002010-02-21T00:22:19.548-08:00Shades of paranoia.Shades of paranoia.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11646417.post-65249711496222526582010-02-20T23:51:01.564-08:002010-02-20T23:51:01.564-08:00Oh, this web site has to approve of the posted com...Oh, this web site has to approve of the posted comments first. that way this ex deputy does not have to answer the question "why were you with the felon in the first place?"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11646417.post-34048555421357700922010-02-20T23:49:21.827-08:002010-02-20T23:49:21.827-08:00if I understand the story correctly: why the hell ...if I understand the story correctly: why the hell did she start dating a guy who was on probation for D.V. which included holding his past girlfriend hostage at gunpoint just a few months prior.
