The event begins at noon in the center's parking lot, 718 Court E. Tickets are $5.

There will be a candlelight vigil Saturday evening at Peninsula Christian Fellowship in honor of Crystal Judson.

Judson was fatally shot by her husband, then-Tacoma Police Chief David Brame, in a Gig Harbor parking April 26, 2003. Brame then killed himself.

Crystal died several days later.

Crystal's candlelight commemoration begins at 5:30 p.m. with a presentation by her father, Lane Judson.

The church is located at 3114 45th St. Court NW in Gig Harbor.

Deon Gates, who maintains the web site for Crystal's parents,(pictured here holding a photo of Crystal) wants to add a page for this five-year anniversary. She wants members of the community to share their thoughts and feelings.

Some of you have been very directly effected, some are compassionate observers. Some of you may want to send some thoughts to Crystal's family, some love, thoughts about law, accomplishments-so-far, ongoing need for change, where you were when you heard, a poem... or some may even want to share pieces of your own story.

Maybe just pieces of what we have learned.

If you have loving words for David Brame's family I promise that I will get any messages to his parents as well. Everybody lost. I respect their decision to be out of the public's focus and would not post those publicly.

TOO MANY of you receiving this email - folk I have met since our tragedy here - have lost someone they love to a brutal end as well - and you know how much words and acknowledgment can mean during the sadder days.

Life changes on that day for those who love.
In some way, we have all been changed.

I invite you to cast off whatever keeps you from sharing - your position, your name, whatever it is - and give the gift of words. I can post you anonymously if you'd rather not have your name out there, OR you can write the Judson's without being posted on the website page here: dv-is-a-crime@comcast.net.

Categories: All • 1 comment
COMMENTS:
Permalink Comment by papasan @ 22:15 - Saturday, April 26th, 2008 Email

http://blogs.thenewstribune.com/crime/2008/04/25/five_years_after_the_brame_tragedyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
