[PA] Goodbye to Officer Sean Quinn

Today Lower Merion Township Police Officer Sean Quinn is believed to have taken his own life in Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park, South Philadelphia Pennsylvania. It is being reported that he left the family home last night after an argument with a family member, had contacted family this morning, didn't report to work, and earlier today was found in his vehicle with what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

"The Lower Merion Police Department wishes to express its heartfelt condolences to Officer Quinn's family and friends and asks that they be kept in your thoughts and prayers as we all try to come to terms with this tragic event."
~ Lower Merion Police Superintendant Michael McGrath.

  1. I am heartbroken over the loss of my friend Sean. He was a dedicated police officer, a loving father/son and a loyal friend. He was a wonderful and kind man who i met in high school and we became fast friends. I just wish he would have known how much he was loved. Goodbye my friend!!

  2. So hard to comprehend how this wonderful and dear man could have taken his life. I've been friends with him since the 80's and we were close friends, even though we hadn't been in close regular contact for the last 10 years or so. We would talk or chat from time to time. He was such a good person ahd had a heart of gold. I miss him so much already.....God be with his family....God rest his soul! Miss you my friend!

  3. Condolences to my friend, and brother in law enforcement, Sean Quinn. Sean was a 25 year veteran and a great humanitarian who never ran out of time to help others. We have lost him due to domestic violence, not mental illness.

    1. There was NO domestic violence between Sean and his wife! They loved eachother dearly... he was suffering from depression... So that is a mental illness...

  4. RIP Brother. I am unclear as to why Quinn is on this board. Reported as spousal argument but no abuse? Prayers to all involved.

    2. Suicide is brutal on a family for years and years afterword - maybe forever, especially preceded by a family argument.

To the person who stated Sean died due to domestic violence, please get your facts straight before you say things like that. My husband and I never had violence between us. We were in love with each other and like every married couple we had our issues, but dealt with them in private. My husband was a great man, husband and father. Thank you, Eileen Quinn
