Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Officer /Guard Elizabeth Mahfouz is said to have taken her own life. She was found in in a Brooklyn subway station's bathroom with a fatal gunshot wound from her own service weapon, a 9-mm. Glock pistol. Her partner said he or she went to check on Elizabeth when she didn't return in a timely manner - one article says it was after Elizabeth had been gone from her post for 45 minutes. Police report that no members of the public witnessed the shooting. Elizabeth leaves her husband, two adult daughters and a grand-daughter.
