The Sheriff's "grab" & "shove" left a "scratch" on his wife's face and a red mark "around" her arm that was still there when the police arrived. (He was gone by then.) The judge bowed out. The lawyer bowed out. They've both been replaced, the case just went to the grand jury, and the judge is going to think about it over the weekend - whether charges should be filed
or not.

...How did Potter County Sheriff Michael Shumate get implicated in a shoving match with his spouse, who showed signs of being in an altercation, and not get charged with assault by contact/domestic violence?...
(Fair question.)
Police Officer Involved Domestic Violence. Lighting a candle of remembrance for those who've lost their lives to domestic violence behind the blue wall, for strength and wisdom to those still there, and a non-ending prayer for those who thought they had escaped but can't stop being afraid.
