[MS] Newly retired Major McClendon's defense for killing Angelia?

It sure is looking like former Jackson County Jail Warden Major Randy R. McClendon, who retired as warden of Jackson County Adult Detention Center in June - TO SPEND MORE TIME WITH HIS WIFE ANGELIA - will claim "nonviolent abuse" as his defense for MURDERING her.

...Before court Monday, [McClendon's attorney Calvin] Taylor said much information would come out in court that would be a surprise. Taylor stopped short of saying that his client had suffered spousal abuse, but he did say, "I think there was certainly nonviolent emotional abuse taking place and directed at and toward Mr. McClendon"...

Murdered Woman's Family Says Suspect Already Getting Special Treatment
WLOX, MS
Oct 17, 2006
Family members of a murdered Gautier woman say they already see signs of special treatment for the man accused of killing her... granted bond... "He came in a nice fresh haircut, freshly groomed, great outfit, dressed to the hilt, casually speaking. We expected him to be in a jail suit. He did not have handcuffs on, he didn't have shackles on. He committed murder. He took a life. He took a life and he walks in and is treated with more respect than everyone else in the room"... "If this trial takes place here, she will not get the justice she deserves. It needs to be moved out of this county or she will not get justice. He will go free. He's already free. Who gets to commit murder and travel out of state? He gets to go to Arkansas."...

Tears from Angie McClendon's family and friends echoed throughout the room as Randy McClendon's bail was set at a $100,000... More than 30 friends and family members filled Gautier City Hall as Gautier Judge Gary Roberts set the bond. McClendon's attorney, Calvin Taylor, pleaded his bail be moderate as nearly 15 police officers surrounded the room. "He's well-known and has substantial ties to the community. He's not a wealthy man, therefore, we ask his bond be reasonable"... Angie McClendon's family was outraged by the bail setting. As they flooded the parking lot, Angie McClendon's mother, Joy Bailey, had to be carried, surrounded by police, to her vehicle. Penny Foreman, Angie McClendon's first cousin... "Haven't talked to him. And don't want to. It's hard enough to sit in the same room and watch him be able to breathe. It hurts"...

  1. And you didn't think the warden was going to have to actually sit it out in a JAIL did you? No - the judge okayed him going to stay with family

    as long as he

    show up for court appearances.

    (He should be under
    suicide watch.)

  3. Thank you traumamamma. I post so few on this blog because I'm so busy doing the list - but should really post here more often where it's public.

I attended your service with great sadness. Someone read a beautiful poem. I always had you in my heart from years of youth, and I wish I could have seen you one last time. What a beautiful casket you had. The people that loved you were there. We put you to rest, but we will never forget you. I know I will not. May you rest in eternal peace my friend. The preacher even said that we may never understand why this happened. My heart goes out to your friends and family. You will always be here with me, in my heart and I will always remember the times we laughed. Rest in peace my friend. Until we meet again..Love Laurie...

He is indicted for Murder and is set to go to trial on February 25, 2008. The trial more than likely will not go due to the heavy docket and this is a "newer" case and only it's second setting.

Hey, Kim I just don't understand how someone especially a retired warden can just go on being free like nothing happend. I noticed that some people said that he won't get a fair trial. How can that be when their taking up for him as I speak. Its not fair this is the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. I would like to talk to the lost gem, and give her a piece of my mind.

Major R. R. Mcclendon used to be like a father to me but, not anymore. I always felt like there was a darkside to him. His mother supposedly shot herself in the head with his revolver when he was in his early 20's. What a suprise. But yet it is not being investigated.I will point that out in court. Good night.

JC resident thank you so much for your prayers. Me and my family needs prayers. GOD will work it out to where he will pay. That just goes to show you how the system is in Jackson Co. There are more people doing life sentences for drugs than anything else. Like my aun't said he got out on a drug bond. They don't care about priorities. There going to do what they want. I will make sure my sister gets a fair trial I promise everyone that.

I miss my daughter and my sister, major mcclendon always said we seemed like sisters, instead of Mother and Daughter. I have had to move away from Jackson County, I have had to at 62, start over with my life, in a twinkling of an eye, my life has been changed, so has my son's, and her honary sisters Kim and Lisa, major mcclendon was the only father he knew when he was growing up. I have been in the hospital because I can not cope with this tragedy and go on with my life, until the trial is over. It has been continued again, another let down. he is walking around free, and my daughter is dead. at least I know she is in HEAVEN, I was there when she was saved. We all make mistakes, I know I have made more than my share. Thank you'all so much for the nice words you said about her, please continueto pray for us.\

The time is drawing near for mr. randy mcclendon. we will see if justice will be done. we will see just how the Jackson county court system conducts their business. future jurors return a guilty verdict for this killer so that he doesn't kill again! the family of angela bailey pleads life imprisonment for this monster.
