Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Sgt. Allan Clairmont is accused of forcing his wife to leave a restaurant where she was eating with friends, then hitting her in the face and on her body repeatedly. Clairmont was arrested Tuesday, put on paid leave - charged with simple battery, simple assault, and false imprisonment - and now has been fired for "conduct unbecoming of an officer."
I know "innocent until proven guilty," but you can bet his department wouldn't fire him without evidence of an assault. We aren't told in the news how badly his (divorcing) wife was hurt, but she was assaulted.
