[CT] Update: Judge upholds Officer Adams reinstatement

50 caliber Desert Eagle hand cannon

Judge upholds Windsor cop's reinstatement
By:Alex Wood, Journal Inquirer
09/18/2007
[Excerpts] A Hartford Superior Court judge has upheld a state arbitration panel's order that the Windsor Police Department reinstate Officer Dennis Adams despite allegations that he held an unloaded pistol to a girlfriend's body and repeatedly pulled the trigger 3½ years ago... Adams was accused of a number of acts of misconduct involving his former girlfriend, Jessica Grady. At the time, Grady was a morning radio personality at WPKX-FM, known as Kix 97.9, in Springfield... The four-page decision by the three-member arbitration panel, which split 2-1, didn't include clear findings of fact... the panel did express skepticism about Grady's version of the gun incident... The panel also questioned Grady's credibility... The panel described Grady's testimony as "inaccurate or... exaggerated"...

  1. This is why victims dont' come forward. i know the girl involved in this incident. she did not come forward about what happened to her until the wife called her to say that the cop was planning on having her killed! can you imagine??? Not only was she completely credible, but the police obviously believed her or this would not have been pursued. The wife even testified to all the lies. Not only was a gun held to her head, but the "cop" in question, used his police vehicle to go on high speed pursuits with her in the car, handcuffed her and had to have someone from another department come to uncuff her when he lost the key, had her operate the DUI machine, and much more. When she found out he was married and not in the middle of a divorce, the he threatened her repeatedly if she left him, or told what she knew.
and what does the paper do? drag the girl through the mud, try to discredit her, and force her to go through three years of trials because the "cop" in question had a wealthy sister and bottomless pocketbook. This is justice? oh, and the best part is he's back on the street as a cop.
