If anyone should have been aware that help is available in spousal abuse cases, it should be Sabourin, who as chief supervised the implementation of new systems of dealing with such cases.
Yet as personal stresses mounted - Sabourin suffered from cancer and was involved in some legal difficulties - he apparently did not reach out for help. Why?
