[Excerpts] A Polk County Sheriff’s Deputy was arrested early Saturday on charges of domestic assault and harassment after an incident at his Altoona home. Deputy John Negrete, 41, was booked in the Polk County Jail at 12:06 a.m. on charges of first-degree domestic assault with intent to commit injury and first-degree harassment, said Deputy Jana Rooker, spokeswoman for the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Negrete was placed on paid administrative leave while the sheriff’s office of professional standards conducts an internal investigation of the incident, Rooker said. Negrete is free on $2,000 bond... Is this the same deputy that was involved in a shooting, resulting in death, on Court Avenue a few years ago?

ReplyDeleteBe advised officer negrete did not fire the fatal shot in the 1992 court ave. shooting. He and another deputy were attacked without provocation and one assailant was killed. It was an obvious case of self defense.
ReplyDeleteSorry. The comment I received today is a little too brutal and personal so I'm going to opt to not post it. Anyone can say things anonymously and some days more than others I really don't want to be a part of that.

WOW NOT GUILTY.. ON ALL CHARGES...IMPRESSIVE. MUST OF BEEN A FALSE ARREST.. MOST OF THE ARMED CITIZENS THAT HAVE DOMESTIC DISPUTES ARE LET OUT ON 2000 DOLLAR BONDS TOO AND GIVEN THEIR GUNS BACK AND ACQUITTED OF ALL CHARGES... HATS OFF TO THE JUDGE ...and John too:)
