Firefighter Arrested In Domestic Violence Case; Officer Charged With DWI

[Excerpts]  Another uniformed city employee finds himself on the other side of the law. An Albuquerque firefighter is arrested on charges of domestic violence.... [Albuquerque firefighter Victor] Tuepell was arrested after 2 a.m. Sunday. According to the criminal complaint, Tuepell's girlfriend told police he hit her in the face. Tuepell told police the two were arguing and he didn't want her walking around intoxicated. Tuepell denies hitting his girlfriend, but the Albuquerque Fire Department has taken action. "He was placed on a 48-hour suspension without pay. So, he's losing a week's worth of pay because of this incident," [Albuquerque spokesperson TJ] Wilham said... The city said, more than likely, the Albuquerque firefighter charged with domestic violence will get to keep his job unless the charges are bumped up to a felony. [Full article here]
