A woman was stabbed to death in her home, and her husband, a retired cop, says he found the body. Police say the body of 48-year-old Cheryl Rose Wynn was found by her husband... Police say there were no signs of forced entry at the home, but they say it's possible that Wynn may have interrupted a burglary. WOMAN'S KILLING REMAINS A MYSTERY
Orange County Register
By Denisse Salazar  com and Kimberly Edds
Published: Feb. 2, 2010
Detectives continue to investigate the stabbing death of a 48-year-old woman who was found in a pool of blood inside her two-story home... Wynn's husband told officers that he came home and found his wife on the bedroom floor and bleeding, [Orange police Sgt. Dan] Adams said... "He is cooperating with our investigation," Adams said. "Nothing has been ruled out at this point."... "I hope that it wasn't a random act because it's scary to think someone is out there attacking people like that," said Vanessa Schultz, who has lived in the neighborhood for nearly 10 years... Adams said no one in the area noticed suspicious activity or suspicious people around the time of the killing. "There is a possibility that she may have come home and interrupted a burglary or it could have been a home invasion." Adams said. "There was no one else at the home so we are trying to figure it out." The knife used to stab Wynn has not been recovered, Adams said. Neighbors said the couple lived in their well-manicured home for more than a decade and were private people. Schultz said she saw Wynn and her husband, Steve, walking their dog about two weeks ago. She said other times she would see Wynn with her grandchild. Wynn worked for The Boeing Company for 24 years. She was a procurement agent in the company's supplier management group based in Cypress, said spokeswoman Cindy Wall. "This is a shocking tragedy," Wall said. "Our heartfelt condolences go out to Cheryl's family and friends." Wall said counselors are available to help Wynn's coworkers cope with the loss...  [Full article here]

  2. Too many things said by friends of Cheryl lead me to believe that this posting REALLY belongs here on this page! Kudos to Behind the Blue Wall for the Courage of this website.
Cheryl, Rest In Peace. Nothing is too great for the God of all Justice. Nothing.

  3. She has 3 kids? If someone killed my mom I'd have blogs all over the internet. I can't even find an obituary.

How can so many articles mention a husband without ever saying his name? Why avoid saying his name? STINKS.

  4. God Bless you Cheryl and my prayers are with friends and family. I went to High School with Cheryl and cheered beside her. She always had a smile that brought sunshine to all.

  5. Husbands name is Steve Wynn, former LAPD detective....very strange they would withhold the name, dont u think

  6. Yeah, I have it up there in the first paragraph intro. It's understandable police would want it withheld but I worry when the media and the police want the same thing in reporting to the public.

Her husband did it or his girlfriend. This should not have happened to her.

Maybe the Orange Police Department can't handle trying to find a pro.

  9. Funny how Steve Wynn's son is an Orange Police Officer with the department investigating this... Funny how Steve Wynn is a retired HOMICIDE detective with LAPD.. C'mon people wake UP!!

Do ur research on this shady cheater of a husband.. Wonder what the life insurance policy is at & if it has been paid out yet STEVE??

  12. strange, steve wynn has not been arrested for this murder, but perhaps not so strange when u look at the whole case...looks like he will have to answer to a higher authority...

  13. I think about Cheryl often. Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and one of the things I am thankful for is having known her. I miss her.

  14. I stay hopeful that someone will be arrested. This week there was news in Illinois that Ex Officer Norberto Rodriguez was finally arrested almost a year and half after his wife Irma's body was found.

Many people get away with murder, but never lose hope. Pray. And pray with faith.

  15. I truely hope he does not get away with this, I know him too well. I often think of her family & hope they are doing okay. I keep a watch on the news hoping & praying that there is news on an arrest for this case.

    2. On the 1-year anniversary my daughter sat next to him on a court bench & mentioned to her friend on FaceTime "I'm sitting by this guy who killed his wife & he's probably going to kill me next." I told my daughter afterward to please don't aggravate a guy who knows how to get away with murder. BUT what are the odds he'd have to hear that on the exact 10-year anniversary?! You may have had an alibi & cop buddies to cover your tracks, Steve, but you'll answer to a higher power eventually. Can't escape that, & until then you'll live the rest of your miserable life knowing the truth.

  19. this steve wynn is probably the biggest liar and cheater ever to walk the earth. several years of sleeping with other women and stalking and beating up his wife. the whole neighborhood fear this evil s.o.b. It wouldn't surprise me if he killed her himself and covered it up to make it look like a burglary. the orange pd is notorious for looking out for their own and would never go after one of their good old boys.

  20. It's hard for me to know what comments to approve and which to not approve when Cheryl isn't around to help decide. Where there is an unsolved murder it seems that ALL info might be relevant and at the same time no one's sense of justice should feel comfortable with publicly and directly pointing a finger of blame. I think it's okay to say "It wouldn't surprise me" but not okay, at least not here, to say "He did it."

  21. Thinking of Cheryl today and sad that nothing has happened to bring the murderer to justice.

  22. Thinking of Cheryl Rose Wynn today. I met her husband on the 10-year anniversary of her death. He admitted to "monitoring" aka stalking me on behalf of his client while an active restraining order was in place. Mr. Wynn took the stand & lied with such ease that it was extremely disconcerting. Praying that justice is served.
