Memphis Police Director Larry Godwin has released the following statement:
"As with any officer involved situation the ones involving Domestic Violence truly sadden and disappoint me. All of these are preventable and when it hits home to our law enforcement family, it makes it even more disappointing. As public servants, we are held to another level and we all know this. Rest assured this case will be handled the same as all DV cases. This officer must and will be held accountable for his actions."
(Twenty three year vet of Memphis Police, Major Stanley Eason, is charged today with aggravated assault on his wife. Eason is in charge of the Memphis Police Department Domestic Violence Unit. "A gun was drawn in the right hand and a bat in the left hand. Ms. Eason stated that she had a weapon pointed at her." Eason is out on bond.)
