[AL] Officer shoots, wounds her adult son - "documented history of domestic violence in the home"

DOTHAN POLICE CHIEF GREG BENTON:
“The investigation into this shooting is in the earliest stage, (but) a preliminary investigation has revealed there was a documented history of domestic violence in the home between the officer and the officer’s adult son. Investigators have learned the involved parties have had limited contact following a documented domestic situation which occurred earlier this month. The shooting (that) occurred today appears to involve self-defense on behalf of the officer involved.”
