A Dothan Police Department detention officer remained on administrative leave on Thursday after an alleged brawl with his father in Midland City. Both officer Michael Lee German, 24, and his father, Joseph German, 46, of Midland City, were charged with third-degree domestic violence after a dispute on Dale Circle, according to Midland City Police Chief Dexter Hammond. Hammond said Michael German told a sergeant his father had struck him in the eye. Since police could not determine the aggressor, both Michael German and his father were taken to the Dale County Jail. “After further investigation and talking with people of the house we determined there was no way to tell the agressor of the two, and due to the evidence there was a physical altercation, both were booked and transported to jail,” Hammond said. A statement from the Dothan Police Department said Michael German would remain on administrative leave with pay pending an internal investigation. [LINK]

I never laid a hand on my father who was three times my size, a twice convicted violent felon with an extensive criminal record! He got mad and charged me bc I wouldn't lend him money for drugs, I left and called police like I was supposed to do. He and my mother also a convicted felon lied to police and got me in jail as well. After an internal affairs investigation I was cleared of any wrongdoing whatsoever as well as the case being thrown out by a judge. My father was in his 40s at the time far from elderly and he was in the wrong not me!
