Walls Police Chief Chris Sing was arrested on a domestic violence charge Thursday night in Southaven. Lt. Matt Anderson, shift supervisor for the Southaven Police Department, said dispatchers received a disturbance call on the east side of the city Thursday night. "After responding, we arrested Chris Sing, who was charged with domestic violence, disturbing a family," Anderson said. Anderson said Sing, 37, a former DeSoto County constable, was not armed. He said Sing was arrested and charged, but then released on his own recognizance. He was not taken to jail. Anderson said details of the arrest were sketchy, but he said no one required hospital treatment as a result of the incident. Sing, who could not be reached Friday, has been police chief in Walls since June 2007. He oversees the department's five officers and is no stranger to law enforcement. He served as a DeSoto County constable in 2003 but lost his re-election bid to the District 4 constable job last year. He also served as a police officer and code enforcement officer for Hernando in 2004. He resigned in Hernando after being found not guilty on charges of drunken driving and reckless driving in an incident at the former Grand Casino in Robinsonville on July 24, 2004. Walls Mayor Gene Alday said Friday evening that his office was investigating the incident. -- William C. Bayne: (662) 996-1408. Staff reporter Yolanda Jones contributed to this story.

  1. I wonder if she was doing anything to provoke him.

  2. That was a really stupid thing to say. It doesn't concern you that he's top cop or that he doesn't have to go to jail, or it doesn't cross your mind how unsafe she knows she is when she sees how this is handled?

Should men also get a free pass to rape women with short skirts?
