[Excerpts] A Cape Coral police officer’s career is in jeopardy because of a gunshot and a marijuana arrest Tuesday during a Key West vacation. Curt Edward Suskevich, 37, a Cape Coral police officer for nine years, faces a marijuana possession charge. His wife, Christine Michelle Suskevich, 34, was charged with discharging a firearm while under the influence of alcohol as well as possession of marijuana. Curt Suskevich was placed on paid administrative leave... Curt Suskevich was released Wednesday from Monroe County Jail after posting $328 bond; his wife was released after posting $2,000 bond. According to a Key West arrest report: Christine Suskevich fired a .32-caliber automatic gun inside a home on Eaton Street shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday... Christine Suskevich told police she fired the round toward the back bedroom because she “just wanted to get (her husband’s) attention.” She said she did not intend to harm him or herself, the report said. Curt Suskevich grabbed the firearm from the countertop and unloaded it. He then called police... While police were examining the scene, they noticed a marijuana pipe with a green leafy substance in view on the kitchen countertop... When asked whose marijuana it was, he replied: “It’s hers. I know she does it, and I just try to ignore it because I am a ... ” Words were then whited out in the report. Christine Suskevich, listed as unemployed in the arrest report, admitted the marijuana was hers... Curt Suskevich was charged with marijuana possession because he “had full knowledge of the marijuana being inside the residence”... Less than an ounce of marijuana was found in the house, police said. Curt Suskevich told police the argument began after the couple had been drinking all day and then had sex in the living room, the report indicated.
