STATE TROOPER CHARGED WITH ASSAULTING GIRLFRIEND

[Excerpts] A [Pennsylvania] state trooper assigned to the Avondale barracks has been charged with assaulting a woman early Sunday after the two argued in a Harrisburg bar. Michael T. Myers, 27, has been charged with simple assault, criminal trespass and unlawful restraint of his 24-year old girlfriend, Middletown police Chief Keith Reismiller said... "We got statements from her and pictures of her injuries," Reismiller said... Bail was set at $10,000 and Myers was released after posting bail. State police spokeswoman Trooper Linette Quinn said in cases like this department policy is to suspend the trooper without pay awaiting the outcome of the criminal case and of a separate internal investigation.
