[Excerpts] The Montgomery County prosecutor’s office Wednesday, Oct. 21, approved charges of aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, felonious assault and tampering with evidence against the stepson of a state prison guard who was stabbed more than 40 times in his home. Prosecutor’s spokesman Greg Flanagan said officials haven’t decided whether to seek the death penalty for Cody Henderson, 19, of Middletown, who is charged with killing Charles S. Zan II, 45, on Saturday... Prosecutors approved charges of aggravated murder while committing aggravated robbery, aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, felonious assault and tampering with evidence... Zan was hired in July 1994 as a corrections officer at the Warren Correctional Institution near Lebanon, where he worked at the time of his death... Zan served in several branches of the military... [Excerpts] MIAMISBURG — Cody Henderson’s MySpace page features a photo of the 19-year-old in a black shirt and skullcap. “I still got my family!!! (JUGGALO 4 LIFE),” it says. A “Juggalo” is a fan of the “horrorcore” band Insane Clown Posse, whose fans have been linked to homicides in several states. Now Henderson is in the Montgomery County Jail, facing charges of aggravated murder and aggravated robbery in the stabbing of his stepfather, Warren Correctional Institution Corrections Officer Charles Zan II, 45... Police said Henderson, of Middletown, entered his mother and stepfather’s studio apartment and stabbed Zan more than 40 times as he lay in bed... In the highly emotional call, she told a dispatcher, “Someone broke into our apartment. They knocked me to the ground and I kind of blacked out. And when I woke up, he (Zan) was laying there. And there’s blood everywhere.” When the dispatcher asked if she saw the intruders, she said, “No, all I heard was noise.” She also said she thought the attacker used pepper spray... [Excerpt] MIAMISBURG — Miamisburg police have arrested a Miamisburg woman on allegations of forgery and money laundering and booked her into the Montgomery County Jail, where her son is being held on charges of fatally stabbing her husband. Police arrested Pandora Jean Zan, 44, of 7123 Springboro Pike, about 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, in the parking lot of the T.J. Maxx store at 131 N. [Excerpts] ...Officer Michael Zan, Charles Zan’s younger brother and a member of the Prince George’s County Police Department in Maryland, said Thursday his family suspected Pandora Zan was involved in the murder. He said the indictment against Zan “has been a long time” coming... Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. credited Miamisburg Police for their work on the investigation that led to charge Pandora Zan and her son. “Pandora Zan will now be held accountable to the maximum extent of the law for her actions,” he said...
