Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said Deputy Andrew Deutsch was arrested Saturday following a physical dispute with his wife. "We want people to know that we will not turn a blind eye to it even if it's one of our employees because if anything, they know the law and they know that it's against the law," Smith said. [Excerpts] A Barrow County sheriff's deputy is charged with terroristic threats and false imprisonment after officers responded to a domestic call at his home, and the sheriff says he's been fired. Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said Monday that 34-year-old Andrew John Deutsch also faces other charges, including battery and violation of oath of office stemming from the altercation early Saturday... The sheriff says deputies arrested Deutsch when they saw bruises and other marks on his wife's body.
