[Excerpts] A Fort Myers police officer has been fired following a March arrest stemming from a physical altercation with his wife. Officer O’Neil Kerr, 35, was charged with misdemeanor battery March 22. He was released the next day on pretrial supervision. An internal affairs investigation found his actions reflected poorly on the department, according to a police report. Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a domestic dispute between Kerr and his wife and arrested him after they saw bruising on her neck, face and arms and a scratch on her neck...
