[Excerpts] A Memphis police officer has been arrested after a fight with her husband... officer Anita Bennet was arrested on Wednesday, September 13, 2011, for the incident which occurred the previous day around 11:10 p.m. The document says Bennett was arguing with her ex-husband at her home in Hickory Hill. During the argument, Bennett ran at her ex-husband from about 10 feet away and tried to shove him while he was holding their 2-month-old granddaughter. The baby's mother ran between the victim and Bennett to protect her child... The ex-husband and several members of the family were waiting at the home when deputies arrived... "This incident is still under investigation and at the conclusion of that investigation a determination will be made as to whether disciplinary charges are forthcoming. Domestic Violence continues to be a great concern of the Memphis Police Department. We take these cases seriously and will take the appropriate actions to educate and discipline our officers to make sure that inappropriate behavior is corrected," said Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong.
