When a 911 dispatcher asked Denae Barnett-Dexter why she shot her husband, the 34-year-old mother of two, said, "Because he's trying to divorce me"... Barnett-Dexter shot her husband with a handgun she had purchased about one week ago... Barnett-Dexter fired more than two shots, but he declined to reveal exactly how many. She confessed... The Montgomery County Prosecutor's office has approved two counts of felonious assault...Trotwood Public Safety Director [POLICE CHIEF/ FIRE CHIEF / DEPUTY CITY MANAGER] Mike Etter: "I think it really brings to life domestic violence and nobody is immune to it."
