An off-duty Broken Arrow police officer was arrested late Tuesday after he allegedly was involved in a domestic altercation with his wife, the Wagoner County sheriff said. Steve Bradley Smith, 46, a 22-year veteran of the Police Department, was arrested at his Wagoner County home on a domestic violence complaint about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sheriff Johnny Cannon said. Smith is on paid administrative leave pending an investigation... Lisa Smith told deputies that she was standing in the living room when Steve Smith shoved her to the floor and then stood over her, screaming, the arrest report states... that while shoving her husband back, she tried to kick him in the groin, but he grabbed her by the ankles and threw her into the kitchen area, where she hit her head on a bar stool. She told the arresting deputy that Steve Smith had been drinking and that the argument became physical after both had been yelling at each other... Smith was booked into the Wagoner County Jail. He was released Wednesday morning after posting $1,000 bond, the sheriff said. No charges have been filed.
