[TX] Deputy Tyler admits to "inappropriately touching" the 11 year old girl in his home
Earlier this month an Upshur County Sheriff's Deputy WHO ADMITTED TO repeated "inappropriate touching" of the 11-year-old girl in his home - with whom he has had close contact with there for about six years - was fired after turning himself in on a charge of indecency with a child. Richard Louis Bridgewater, 29, of Big Sandy, is charged with one felony count, but could face more charges. Bridgewater was confined under $25,000 bond in Titus County Jail at Mount Pleasant, where he was transferred "for his safety". The girl told her friends at school, who told their parents, and a report was made. There are some possible 20 incidents that have happened in the past year. Bridgewater - who admits touching her more than once - had been with the sheriff's office about a year, at first as a jailer in October 2006. He was transferred to the patrol division last October. He previously worked for the Overton and Big Sandy police departments.
