DEPUTY ARRESTED IN INCIDENT

A Pueblo County Sheriff's deputy was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of domestic violence. Brandon Talton, 37, was also arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault. The incident occurred at 2:30 a.m. at Talton's home... Deputies were sent there on the report of a family disturbance. Talton reportedly was involved in an argument with his 15-year-old stepson and a physical altercation with his 34-year-old wife. During the struggle with his wife, the affidavit said the 15-year-old boy intervened and struck Talton. The affidavit said Talton was uneasy on his feet, had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes while speaking with deputies. Talton, a 13-year veteran of the force, is a patrol deputy who usually works with a K-9 partner. Chief Charlene Graham, head of the law enforcement bureau, said Talton has been placed on paid administrative leave. "The judge, when he sees (Talton), will make a determination whether he'll be able to carry a weapon or not," Graham said... [Full article here]

A Pueblo County Sheriff's deputy is scheduled to return to work today after being arrested in February for suspicion of domestic violence. Deputy Brandon Talton has been on paid leave since his Feb. 14 arrest. According to court records, the district attorney's office dismissed charges against the 14-year veteran on April 30. [LINK]
