[OK] Asst. Police Chief Chandler's weapon, ammo clip, and loose shells were booked in as evidence

...[Vian Oklahoma Assistant Police Chief Brian] Chandler was arrested after he allegedly caused a disturbance at the Electric Cowboy and assaulted his girlfriend... His girlfriend said in police reports she was very scared of Chandler due to the fact of HIS POSITION AND LACK OF DISCIPLINE by other officers and departments... The weapon, ammo clip, and loose shells were booked in as evidence... Kenneth Johnson, Mayor of Vian, made this comment about the incident: "I would just say there are unfortunate incidents that arise in our town. I will tell you this - there is a renewed spirit with us. In Vian we are moving forward toward the future. And there's a lot of good things happening with our town and I'm not going to let anything dampen our soul."

[Excerpts] Police say a disturbance at a country-music nightclub in Fort Smith has resulted in the arrest of the assistant police chief of Vian, Okla., on misdemeanor assault and public intoxication charges... [Excerpts] A Vian police officer ... Brian Chandler, 32, was arrested at the Electric Cowboy and charged with public intoxication and domestic assault. According to Fort Smith Police, bartenders told the off-duty police officer he couldn't have any more alcohol. According to FSPD, bartenders say Chandler began arguing and cussing at them. He was thrown out of the club. Employees at the Electric Cowboy say Chandler came back with what looked like a gun. Employees called police. Once police arrived, employees say they found a .40 caliber magazine on Chandler. After obtaining consent to search his vehicle, authorities found a 22 in Chandler's vehicle. The Vian police officer was also charged with domestic assault after his girlfriend told police Chandler threw the magazine at her during an argument in the parking lot... [Full article here]

[Excerpts] Fort Smith Police said Brian K. Chandler of the Vian Police Department was arrested Saturday morning after an incident at the Electric Cowboy... Chandler's girlfriend, who was at the club with him, told police once they got to his vehicle Chandler loaded his Glock and told her to go back inside the Electric Cowboy and tell those "wanna be cops" that he was going to go back and shoot them. She said Chandler then threw something at her - later identified as a cell phone. The report said she went back inside and informed the employees of Chandler’s intentions. The report said the manager of the club, Tracy Hester, came outside and was confronted by Chandler who had one hand behind his back. Hester told police he grabbed Chandler in self defense and was assisted by other employees. Hester said Chandler did not have a weapon but was again physically removed from the entrance area of the club. His girlfriend said in police reports she was very scared of Chander due to the fact of his position and lack of discipline by other officers and departments. The ammo clip for Chandlers weapon was found near his vehicle. The weapon, ammo clip, and loose shells were booked in as evidence. Chandler was charged with third-degree domestic assault.
