[NYPD] Four New York Police Department suicides since the beginning of the year.

NYPD Police Officer Matthew Schindler,
married father of three, was driving toward his home on the Long Island Expressway when he pulled over in Nassau County and shot himself. [Mass Of Christian Burial Saturday February 18, 2012, 10:00 A.M. at St. Elizabeth R.C. Church.] Date of death: February 13, 2012.

Schindler is the second NYPD officer to commit suicide in eight days and the fourth since the start of the year.

NYPD Police Officer Brian Saar,
a father of twin five-year-old daughters, shot and killed himself in his house in Suffolk County on Super Bowl Sunday, reportedly after arguing with his wife. Date of death: February 5, 2012.

NYPD Police Officer Patrick Werner, 
killed himself at his parents’ home in Yorktown Heights after fleeing from a car accident. Sources told The New York Post he had been arguing with his girlfriend on his cell phone at the time of the accident. Date of death: January 15, 2012.

NYPD Police Officer Terrence Dean, 
shot himself with his service pistol while on duty at the scene of a Queens car burglary after getting a phone call from his fiancée, urging him to get help for his severe depression. He had held a gun to his head in front of her little girl earlier that day. DOD January 19, 2012.
