If the heavily armed, fearsome, professional, MIGHTY, tactical and wise Harris County Sheriff's Office - the largest in Texas - pulls in the additional strength of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force as a precaution when arresting one "fellow lawman" accused of domestic violence - and they do - imagine how overwhelmed and in danger the domestic violence victim is in dealing with the abusive officer alone. How scary is that? There really needs to be special forms of protection and access for help. If it's a unique perp then it's a unique victim. BOTH need to be handled with special expertise, precautions, and protocols.

[Excerpts] Houston - A police officer with the Aldine Independent School District was arrested early Friday and charged with domestic violence in a series of alleged attacks against his wife. Harris County Pct. 4 Constables Domestic Violence unit began investigating Heriberto Morales, 47, after his wife recently filed complaints, admitting that the alleged abuse has been going on for at least the last seven months. She claims that as far back as June of 2011 and as recently as November, December, and again last month, that Morales made repeated physical and verbal assaults including throwing her to the ground, kneeing her in the stomach, punching her, dragging her out of bed and threatening to kill her. Morales was arrested Friday with the help of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task force. He was arrested without incident and ordered held in the Harris County Jail without bond until a scheduled court hearing next Monday. Pct. 4 Asst.
