[KY] Officer Ash accused of pointing gun, punching girlfriend's face, hitting back of her head, tactical arm twist


...The warrant said Ash went to the woman’s home on Friday "wanting to talk" and the two went for a drive in the woman’s van... The report states he was pointing a gun at [C.K.], then he turned the gun on himself... Ash punched [C.K.] twice in the face while she was driving... 
 grabbed and twisted her arm... grabbed her by her ponytail... struck her several times in the back of the head, according to the warrant. It said Ash also threatened to break her arm... and kicked her car causing what’s believed to be $1,000 in damage...

[Excerpts] Hired to serve and protect, not commit crimes, a Louisville Metro Police officer is in jail accused of assaulting a woman he was dating. Officer Bernard Ash is a 14-year veteran on the force, but tonight he's in jail and on administrative leave for what's described in this police report as brutally beating his girlfriend... Ash, a 14-year Seventh Division officer is charged with domestic violence assault, wanton endangerment, terroristic threatening, and criminal mischief... Ash's girlfriend [C.K.] came to check on him. When Ash opened the door, the report states he was pointing a gun at [C.K.], then he turned the gun on himself... the next day, trouble started again... police say Ash punched [C.K.] twice in the face while she was driving. According to police, Ash punched [C.K.] several times in the head, pulled her hair, and kicked her car causing what’s believed to be $1,000 in damage. [Excerpts] A Louisville Metro Police officer was arrested Tuesday after police said he was involved in a domestic dispute with a woman last week. Bernard Ash ... was charged with wanton endangerment, terroristic threatening, fourth-degree assault and criminal mischief after he allegedly punched the woman several times and grabbed and twisted her arm during an argument, according to an arrest warrant. Ash ... had also pointed a gun at the woman and then at himself in an earlier incident, according to the warrant. He has been placed on paid administrative leave... The woman was not named in court documents. The warrant said Ash went to the woman’s home on Friday "wanting to talk" and the two went for a drive in the woman’s van. The warrant said Ash then punched the woman twice in the face while she was driving and later grabbed and twisted her arm. After returning to the woman’s home, Ash grabbed her by her ponytail in the condominium parking lot and then struck her several times in the back of the head, according to the warrant. It said Ash also threatened to break her arm. The woman suffered injuries to her head and arm and soreness on her scalp... [Full article here]
