Police Officer Involved Domestic Violence. Lighting a candle of remembrance for those who've lost their lives to domestic violence behind the blue wall, for strength and wisdom to those still there, and a non-ending prayer for those who thought they had escaped but can't stop being afraid.

[CA] 2003: Sarah Gumbert's life taken in her San Bernardino police officer husband's murder-suicide
On August 19th 2003 veteran San Bernardino police officer Paul Gumbert fatally shot his wife Sarah before killing himself at their Highland California home. There was one short article that I could find and it gave no clue to why, or what preceded their deaths. It gave no clue to who they were as people, or what could be done to keep it from happening again to another family.
Paul and Sarah have 2 children.
Lift a prayer.

ReplyDeletePaul was my 1st cousin and I loved him so much as a big brother its 16 long years since their deaths, and i miss him so much. Not a day goes by that cry thinking about his Son and Daughter who i adore so much. May they Him and His RIP and let their souls rest. Such a sad sad tragedy to be taken so soon. Sometimes I wish i was there to stop him from making that mistake but we may never know what truly happened in that house 😫😫😫😫😫😫😢😢😢😢😢😢😥😥😥
ReplyDeleteI knew Paul before he was a Police officer, I knew him when he was an explorer scout for the Hesperia Station of the SBCSO, I knew him after that, and I knew him when he was with the PD in San Bernardino. What a waste. For him for his beautiful wife, for his children, for his family, and friends. It says I cant "Cop Hate" so I'm limited on what I really would like to say 21 years later. I also wore a badge. Still disgusted.
