JUNE NEWS EXCERPTS ON TRIAL OF JEFF DENNIS:
Jury selection in the murder trial of a former Dallas Township police officer accused of killing his wife is scheduled to begin July 9... Carli Dennis was killed because she ignored her husband's demands to quit her job at the Luzerne County 911, where she was having an affair with a co-worker... "Jeff told me to quit or die," Carli Dennis told William H. Jones... Other alleged statements include allegations Jeff Dennis put a gun to her head several times, pushed and beat her, made her call him every free second she had, and often threatened to kill her and make it look like a suicide... Prosecutors also plan to introduce evidence of other crimes Jeff Dennis allegedly committed, including a possible assault of his wife a week before her death. Those alleged crimes will be substantiated by eyewitness testimony of him grabbing her by the hair and neck multiple times... The trial of a former Dallas Township police officer accused of killing his wife over her purported infidelity could be on hold. An analysis of the weapon with which Jeff Dennis allegedly shot his wife, Carli, in the head on Feb. 27, 2006, is the reason for the potential delay... an expert’s analysis on the gun may not be complete by the trial’s start date... We have been dealt an unexpected blow with yet ANOTHER DELAY. Just when I thought one piece of this tragedy might be coming to a close. This simply cannot be happening again. How much longer must we put up with a judge who keeps allowing continuances while Jeff enjoys his cable tv in his cell?

ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to cops on trial you can't count on anything. I am so sorry. I hope they are holding Jeff in a dog kennel cage and feeding him mush from a bowl on the floor. The thought of him being comfortable while his team plays these delay games with your family makes me angry.

Attorneys for a police officer charged with killing his wife say prosecutors should not be allowed to use many statements the woman made prior to her death as evidence against the officer. Luzerne County prosecutors previously said Carli Dennis told people how her husband, police officer Jeff Dennis, abused her, pushing her against a wall and flinging her over a couch. He also threatened to shoot her and make it look like she did it...
