SHE TOLD THEM EVERYTHING, MAYBE THINKING THAT SHE WOULD BE PROTECTED, BUT HE WAS OUT OF JAIL THE NEXT MORNING - WITH HIS JOB AS COP ON THE LINE IF THE CHARGES PROCEEDED. I CAN IMAGINE THAT SHE FELT THERE WAS ONLY ONE WAY LEFT TO SURVIVE:

Deputy's fiancee wants no prosecution
Manatee police briefs
Sarasota Herald-Tribune, FL
Dec 9 2007
A sheriff's deputy's fiancee, reportedly the victim of domestic battery, said in court papers filed this week that she does not want her boyfriend to be prosecuted on the misdemeanor charge. Authorities this month arrested the deputy, Christopher E. Francis, 25, on a domestic battery charge. Detectives said Francis beat his girlfriend in their home in North Manatee County. His attorney, Mark Lipinski, said in a court brief that Francis and the woman want to resume their relationship. A judge last week ordered the lifting of a restraining order the woman had filed against Francis.

  1. OMG Cloud, I'm having flash backs to my ex's first trial. I would have done anything to save the job I thought for sure he would lose.

Funny, he didn't even lose his job after his third arrest and serving a year in prison - post conviction - he resigned instead after his appeals ran out.

    'justice system' - yeah.

  2. Why Do Victims Stay In An Abusive Relationship?

    1) Fear
Many victims remain in a situation out of fear. If they issue a criminal complaint with the police and follow through in the courts, they fear their partner will be reprimanded and, in many cases, allowed to return home, and the beating will be worse than ever.

    2) Failure As A Partner
Many victims don't want their family to see they have a bad relationship or marriage.

    3) Financial
Many victims cannot afford to move out. They have no place to go for shelter and care. And, they have no finances.

    4) Responsibility For Drinking Or Drugs
Many victims, because they have such love feelings about themselves, think they are responsible for the drinking and/or the drugs.

    5)Embarrassment
No one wants to look disorganized or "bad" in other people's eye. It is embarrassing to loose the house and the furniture. In cases where children are involved, it is embarrassing and shameful for parents to allow the school to see that there is a big problem in the home.

    6) Never Experiencing Independence

    7) Hope
Many individuals keep hoping things will be better.

    8) Escape And Return
It is very common for victims to leave more than once before they decide to separate or divorce. They allow themselves to be sucked back by partners who say or show, in a very short period of time, that "things will be different this time."

  3. IT CAN BE MUCH MORE COMPLEX IN COP DV.

He loses his gun if he has a domestic

    +

    No gun = no job

    +

She realizes the police are protecting him, not her

    +

She gets pressure from even the so-called PROSECUTOR to let the cop go - drop the charges

    +

The JUDGES usually cringe away from doing anything that will stop a cop's career...

    +

AND while unprotected and unsupported she has a MEAN MAD OFFICER - WHO IS LET OUT RIGHT AWAY - WHO IS TELLING HER IF HE LOSES HIS JOB HE WILL KILL HER OR SAYING "YOU KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU"

    If she has kids
    or is low on funds
she has almost only one choice.

    Whoop.
