Media reports indicated a Starrett City resident, believed to be a police officer, was shot in the leg during a dispute with his wife early Friday, According to a spokesperson for NYPD Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne, police from the 75th Precinct were called to the Vandalia Avenue home of Anthony McCloud, 25, to find he had been shot in the right leg. A cop's wife grabbed her husband's service weapon and shot him in the leg during a heated argument at their Brooklyn apartment Friday, police sources said. Lanice McCloud, 23, was charged with assault and weapons possession after being questioned most of the day at Brooklyn's 75th Precinct stationhouse, cops said. Anthony McCloud, 25, assigned to Brooklyn's 70th Precinct, at first tried to cover for his wife by saying he accidentally shot himself in the calf while cleaning his gun. "He might try to do the noble thing," and take the blame for the wound, a source said. The officer's story fell apart when Lanice McCloud - fearful her husband would get into further trouble - told officers she accidentally wounded him in an argument... The NYPD's Internal Affairs Bureau was investigating the shooting, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said...
