WALDEN — Officer Bobby Montanaro is again getting a paycheck from the Walden Police Department after a judge lifted a protection order against him. Montanaro, his estranged wife, Jamie, and mother, Deborah Robb, were all charged with assault in a fight outside Jamie’s home in January. Since that time, the village’s then-youth officer was on unpaid leave pending the resolution of his court case. On July 10, an Orange County Family Court judge decided the case against Montanaro would be dropped in a year if he stays out of trouble. Chief Jeffry Holmes said his department is following protocol and doing its own investigation to determine whether Montanaro will return to active duty.
