[LA] Recently fired Detective Dowling sends suicidal photo to ex-wife

...She also showed officers a picture Dowling had sent from his cell phone showing him holding a semiautomatic handgun to his head with his finger on the trigger... After receiving that photo, the woman told investigators that she feared for her life and the life of her children...

(Around Google I noticed him referred to as "detective." Please keep me updated on this. Is she supported? How can she and the children ever be safe? -- And I'm calling the "estranged" wife his EX wife here because he has really broken any sacred or committed bond that there ever may have been. I KNOW she wants away with no turning back. Somethings you just know.)

[EXCERPTS] A former St. Tammany Parish sheriff's deputy turned himself in to Slidell Police on Tuesday after allegedly stalking and threatening his estranged wife, authorities said. Keith Dowling, 38, allegedly went to his former home on Aug. 24 and saw his wife with another man, who he assumed was her new boyfriend, Slidell Police Department spokesman Capt. Kevin Foltz said. Dowling became enraged and began banging on the door and demanding that the man come out and fight him... Dowling's wife told police she had received several threatening voice-mail messages and text messages from her ex-husband... She also showed officers a picture Dowling had sent from his cell phone showing him holding a semiautomatic handgun to his head with his finger on the trigger... After receiving that photo, the woman told investigators that she feared for her life and the life of her children... Dowling, who had been with the Sheriff's Office for about five years, was fired about a month ago for "violating policies and procedures...
