MAN DEAD AFTER OFF-DUTY HENDERSON OFFICER OPENS FIRE INSIDE HOME

Updated: Sep 17, 2010
[Excerpts] A deadly dispute played out inside a Henderson home when an estranged husband showed up and an off-duty police officer opened fire... Police say the victim went into the home of his estranged wife with a gun. He was met by the off-duty Henderson officer who was also armed with his own personal gun. That off-duty officer had apparently been dating the woman involved. Her estranged husband was reportedly not welcome in the home and did not have a right to be there. Police say he came in anyway in hopes of confronting the pair. Within a matter of hours, he left in a coroner's van. "It was just four, bang bang bang bang, in a row. Four shots. My initial reaction was oh, that didn't sound like a firecracker or fireworks," said neighbor [SF]... "It's stunning. It's shocking actually. It's unfortunate that anyone had to die in this situation. When the facts come out we'll see if it was justified," said neighbor [MK]. A city of Henderson spokesperson says because the officer was not on the job, this is not considered to be an "officer involved shooting". "When officers are off-duty, they are acting in the capacity of a citizen," said spokesperson Kathy Blaha... The Henderson officer is only being identified at this time as a 32-year-old North Las Vegas resident. The Clark County Coroner's Office will release the name of the estranged husband pending notification of next of kin. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be forwarded to the Clark County District Attorney for review. [Full article here]
FAMILY OF HENDERSON MAN SHOT BY OFF-DUTY OFFICER SPEAK OUT
KTNV
Sep 18, 2010
[Excerpt] The family of Friday's deadly shooting victim are here from Seattle saying they have heard multiple versions of how their son died. They say the events leading up to the incident spell out foul play. A birthday video shot three weeks ago shows one happy family, but underneath the smiles and kisses, family members say trouble had been brewing for quite a while. Ruslan Zhgenti is said to be a loving father to his toddler son, worked with his wife at the same dental office, but Friday morning police found him dead in his Henderson home. "I don't know how to put this; he was murdered," says Timur Durdyev, Zhgenti's brother. His family is making some big accusations. They say it was not in Zhgenti's nature to confront anyone violently, let alone with a handgun like Henderson Police say he did. The family says his wife was having an affair with an off-duty Henderson Police officer who shot Zhgenti four times. "They had these relations before, an affair, I would say. She was cheating on my brother, before coming to the decision that they need to separate for a while," says Durdyev. The victims family says he and his wife had only been separated a month and still have very much access to his own home. That's despite Henderson Police reporting he did not have free access to the home. "I think it was planned. just to take my brother out of the picture. Probably for his wife to have a different life or officially not cheat," says Durdyev... [Full article here]

Estranged husband confronted pair at Henderson home

[Excerpts] An off-duty Henderson police officer shot and killed a gun-wielding man during a domestic dispute at a Seven Hills home early Friday morning. The officer was at a woman's home at 3038 Via Sarafina Dr., near Seven Hills Drive and Lizard Leaf Drive, when the woman's estranged husband came to the home around 1:15 a.m., according to Henderson police. The 38-year-old husband did not live at the home, police said. He entered and confronted the two people with a handgun. The off-duty officer, a 32-year-old North Las Vegas resident, grabbed his own handgun and fired at the husband, killing him. The officer used a personal weapon, not his department-issued handgun, police said... The home is registered to a Sabina Iskenderova. Public records show she bought the home new in 2002 with a Ruslan Zhgenti. Neighbors described them as a reclusive but polite Eastern European couple in their 30s... Police were at the home well into the afternoon, according to neighbor [JH]. He said he saw investigators take a personal computer and several brown paper sacks out of the home. He added that he knew all of his neighbors except for the couple at that home... [Neighbor JR] said he believed a late-model Toyota sport utility vehicle parked in its driveway Friday afternoon belonged to the husband... In April, police fired at but missed a state Fire Marshal's investigator who fired at officers... [Full article here]

Is it me or is this article kind of phrased awkwardly?
"after the man entered the home of the officer's female friend."
Placing the possesive nature of the officer's friend as opposed to "after the man entered the home where his estranged wife lived".
I dunno lol just seemed odd...

There is a lot more to this story, then what they are writing here. The man that was shot was a family member and this all seems very suspicious on the part of the wife and off-duty cop. This is not the full story, the husband entered his own house, they we not divorced, he went to go see his sick child. I feel that the cop should be a moral example to the community, he shouldn't be sleeping around with a married women, and then shooting her husband in the same house where their child was sleeping on the second floor. We know for sure that he was shot four times, and he never shot at the cop, this seems like the cop was shooting to kill not to defend.

Sabina was still married to Ruslan at the time of the shooting, when all of this was going on we never got the full story, for the longest time we thought that they called the police and that there was a huge shoot out in the house between Ruslan and the cops. It was only until we read the news that we figured out that the cop was OFF-DUTY and a "friend" of Sabina's. She doesn't want anything to do with the Ruslan, she doesn't even want to bury him properly. He never did anything to her besides love her and take care of their child. While she was bring men home at one in the morning while her child was sick upstairs. Our family just wants justice for this horrible killing.

Hello everyone. I am younger brother of the man who was shot and killed by off duty cop. I want to thank you everyone here for the support and for those who are uncertain about details of that sept. 17th morning, here is some help for you:
ReplyDeleteMy brother WAS NOT illegaly present at HIS house
The weapon He had inside the house was LEGAL and regestered under His name( I saw permission card myself. He took all neccessary classes and passes all required tests to obtain it.
The off duty cop WAS NOT his wife's FRIEND, he was her LOVER, and a patient of clinic as well, where they both worked( my brother and his wife).
I spoke with both of them day before, and we had usual talk, as we do always. And based of the conversation, there was NO indications of them being ESTRANGE to each other, and they always told me if there was any kind of argument between them( which is normal between couple- they been married for 12 years).
He was at his house, He saw the intruder doing His wife in His bedroom, and, according to all laws, my brother could shot and killed that immoral cop, but He did not. Police said that the gun was pointed at the cop. Of course they must say that. But police also said thinks that are not accurate. So people, you can go ahead and listen to police, they always have story to pass, but I am here to bring the truth, not for anything else. Thank you for your time
I'm really sorry that you lost your brother this way and that the truth may never be known.
ReplyDeleteI posted comments from the web because there a lot of people who just look at this right away and can sense something is most likely wrong.
It starts with sleeping with someone else's wife. To anyone reading this - don't do that. Even if they were separated they were not divorced and it is a volatile time when couples need the time AND SPACE to work out their stuff - for their family's sake.
Steer clear.
My mother Sabina Iskenderova,Which lives in Las Vegase,
ReplyDeleteis a prostitute. It slept with a negro, when my dad unexpectedly returned home. He was shot up in an own bedroom and nobody for it is punished. Really in this article true? In fact for simply talks we have a large ground floor. Why is a dad killed in a bedroom? My mother is a killer!
this is a false statement written by a family member of the victim, this comment was not left by the son of the family.
DeletePerson who allows himself to open Facebook and e-mail accounts under 3-year-old
ReplyDeletechild's name should not have any rights to the freedom of speech. If you are
seeking the truth and you believe that injustice was done under United States
Laws, you should at least know what terms are illegal to use in this country.
Spelling check and educated English would not hurt either.
I wonder, if all the accusations delivered by the person who had the history of
raping the innocent girl, drug abuse, seeking escape from the justice in United
States?
You wanted to open the can of worms that was supposed to be buried with Ruslan!?
However, worms in that can do not belong to Toni's mother or the police officer
only; they also belong to Ruslan. How much of his memory should be uncovered?
How much would you like to know?
Ruslan was a dear friend who needed medical help. However, you, obviously
foreign-born, or Ruslan would never understand that being a man doesn't mean
being physically or mentally abusive. Being a real man doesn't mean grabbing the
gun, again using a violence, to deal with the divorce. Real man do not beat
their wives with their feet, do not strangle them, do not threaten them with
knives!
Real men get help, medical and psychological, if they really care about their
family or at least, about their child. Living the life full of excuses that
somebody else is responsible for their behavior, their violence, their rudeness
is the logo of the weak.
Too sad for Ruslan, he could not overstep his pride. And the people who are so
eager to judge now ignored his needs, his cry for help which, ultimately, cost
him his life.
I'm writing on behalf of those people who loved Ruslan as a brother, who spend
most of the waking hours next to him, those who he had been put in tears on multiple
occasions, those who tolerated him because we knew he was diagnosed by medical
doctor as having bipolar personality and were hoping he'll get medical help.
All of your public, grammatically incorrect correspondence cannot hurt more
people who known him, with or without details of whatever really happen that
tragic night. The only person it really damages is his son. Hasn't he been hurt
enough for his three years of life?
You wanted to make it public?? We are going public, people who are devastated
that in the time of grief somebody can pretend to care wasting their time on
second-hand web sites.
Sincerely, friends and co-workers of Ruslan Zhgenti.
There's a lot of harmful words being shared publicly.
ReplyDeletePeople have ANGLES (ain-gulls), their own interest to serve, and others seek truth. Both say they are for truth but one is full of meanness.
A lot of unrelated low shots indicates to me someone serving their own interest. There was a shooting. That's what this is about... not using 3 year old names for logons, or bipoloar diagnosis - unless it's now OKAY to SHOOT people who are bipoloar.
Accusing Rusians people of hurting a child by seeking a more critical eye at the death of their brother/ son?
That was so desparate that it says anyone who really care about Rusian shouldn't say anything publicly. It was so petty that it pointed out spelling errors in the midst of a discussion of murder vs. justified homicide? SPELLING ERRORS of foreign born people? Really? Is that all you have??????????
I smell a guilty soul.
No, its not ok to shoot bi polar people. but it also not ok for a bi polar person to snuck in the house and point his gun to his ex wifes head.
ReplyDeleteand its not ok to use Sabina's son's name to harrass her, and its not ok to use a word "negro"...
before you make officer Little a monster, maybe you should find out the details of that tragic night.
I hear you but I will let others work in his defense. I have to step back because I only have two things in life that render me UNABLE to be objective - and one of them is someone carrying on a relationship with someone else's spouse. Divorce and/or marriage problems need room.
ReplyDeleteIf he needed to protect her, and not bang her, seems he would do that at another residence or find a place to secure her safety.
The outrageous lack of judgement that it took to be in that home at that time of night with someone else's wife - estranged or not - makes it impossible for me personally to go on a quest for the "details of that tragic night" that would exonerate Officer Little.
Someone else can do it. I'll blog about it.
why? were you there? did you see them "bang"? before you blog about anything, you should know the whole story... Or at least you should try to find out. Before you let somebody accuse Sabina of being a "prostitute", before you let somebody use an unappropriate words, like "negro", before you let somebody use a 3 years old name on you web site, you should try to get that story straight.
ReplyDeleteYou go to weird (concerning) levels to distract or redirect from the dead body.
ReplyDeleteIf a man is in a married woman's house at 1am he can't THEN be indignant about his or her integrity.
The word Negro? Wow. *I* am "Negro" - Black, African American, or even Colored if that's the word you use. I'm not offended. Are you trying to be offended for Black people? I'm old enough that "Negro" was = and still partially IS a "proper" word.
A person who appears to be the daughter of Rusian did use the word prostitute here. If she is who she says she is (and no one has implied she's not), then her dad was just KILLED. If her dad was just killed then, more than the general public, she has the RIGHT to voice her feelings and opinion publicly, whether she is accurate or not.
I don't care if she doesn't like Black people. Should I? It's her life.
This is MY blog.
I think everyone is stepping away from the real issue here who care if someone used an “improper” word or had spelling mistakes. The real issue at hand is that Sabina was still married to Ruslan, and anyone who say otherwise is just trying to cover their tracks. So when Ruslan entered his house at 1 am he was shot 4 times by officer Little who was sleeping with Sabina. For the people who are accusing Ruslan’s family of all these horrible things such as being rapist and drug addicts, not once did Ruslan’s family attack Sabina’s family by calling anything hateful like that. They spoke of the situation at hand, and yeah they did call Sabina a prostitute but what would you call her if you were in their shoes and knew that she was sleeping around when she was still married and got one of her “boyfriends” to kill her husband, but now that I think about it, I think prostitute is much too nice a word for a person like Sabina. So how about instead of writing petty things such being foreign and having spelling and grammatical mistakes, you write about the situation at hand, try to explain to us how Ruslan can enter his house and get shot because he caught Sabina and Little in bed together. How in anyway can that be justified?
ReplyDeleteRuslan had one son, he is 3 years old. and his name is Anthony. He does not know how to use internet, or read or write... yet. When he grows up, he will decide if his mother is a prostitute or not. a Daughter??? Dont think so.
ReplyDeleteit is Your blog. so maybe you should be responcible for letting people use somebody else's child's name and identity
From Aya.
ReplyDeleteI am reading all this BS and dirt which some of you pouring on Ruslan and I am astonished by their baseness and stupidity. I am not afraid of anything and anybody, and being a member of this Family I have all the right to post my comments, thoughts and, perhaps, some memories from the past to defend Ruslan and his real Family.
When this horrible tragedy ended Ruslan’s life, I thought that there is nothing else in the world that could shocked me this way. And I was wrong. I personally blame Ruslan’s legal wife of 12 years for His early death. (Ruslan turned 38 years in august). Or this was the way that was chosen to “get rid of Him” like He is an old toy, broken toy. From the day it happened I kept asking myself this questions
-How is she going to live with that, or how can she sleep at night, or how can she eat or drink after All she was part of, after All she have done???
I thought she would spend days and nights at the church, standing on her knees praying and asking for forgiveness without raising her eyes. Instead, I found out that she “has better things to do”, posting her dirty comments about the Family from which she “took away” son, brother, uncle and grandson. And His 3 y.o. son lost his loving Dad and only parent who really loved and care about him.
How can she be so lowness??? What else to say about her character if she has nothing of humane left in her? Tons of “garbage” comes out of her dirty mouth. And that doesn’t make her look less guilty, but much worse. She is stating that Ruslan was unbalanced and aggressive person. Really? Well, that makes me pose these questions:
- Why did she change her last name to Ruslan’s last name couple years ago?
- Why she was kept saying “thank you for such a wonderful son” to Ruslan’s mother every holiday?
I guess she did that “when a gun was pointed at her head”. Sure.
continue from Aya.
ReplyDelete- Why did she have a child with “such a person”? If any of that was a truth, Ruslan could be a threat to His son and would give a bad influence. Everyone who knows Ruslan knew that He loved His son more than anything and anybody in the whole world. Ruslan was the great Dad to His son, as well as He pretty much replace him his mother too, because she always had “better, more important things to do”. In my opinion, for her, having a baby was “cool”, and parent’s responsibilities were skipped.
She hates all of us, and that’s her right. She fall in love with someone else on a side, and that’s her right as well. However, we are still very much in shock from one fact- How and why there was an armed stranger in Ruslan’s bedroom, at 1 am in Ruslan’s bedroom with His wife?????? It was in her very power to prevent this tragedy from happening. However, she has chosen to “play” those disgusting, dirty and dangerous games which cause Ruslan’s life. And that’s her nature- to play. Three weeks before the tragedy, she plays “a loving wife and mother” on that video which was taking on 08.23.2010(Ruslan’s birthday), but why??? If you are trying to divorce Ruslan, how come there is a cake, candle, and birthday song with wishing to have “many many more”, and kiss in the lips??? I am sure if she confesses to Ruslan that she doesn’t love him anymore (like she ever did), He would not be standing next to her, and He would never let her kiss Him. In other words she would be estranging wife. Ruslan wasn’t that way. It’s not in his DNA to fake things, unlike others. Also, unlike others, He had self respect and wouldn’t humiliate himself. However, it was very convenient for her to keep Ruslan close. Why not? Who else would take care of His son? Ruslan was the one who fed him, game him a bath each day, put him to bed, and woke up in the middle of the night to give the boy medicine if he was sick or if he couldn’t sleep. Because his wife, again, had other things to do. What things?? Things like smoking frequently, playing or chat online or watching TV shows, or talking on the phone with whatever is up for conversations.
continue from Aya.
ReplyDeleteAnd now she and her girlfriend are trying to infuse everyone that Ruslan was a monster. But I don’t get this:
-Why are they being “on the same page” so much and they keeping “singing the same song”???
Well, maybe there is a secret, or secrets, they both keep from the public. But if I was her friend I would think twice. If Ruslan’s wife did this to Him, to the guy who she try to attain so hard, using different ways and approaches, ”whatever it takes to get Him be with her”. And we were witnesses of that. What kind of “ surprises” her friend can expect from this type of person??? Bad, horrible and unpleasant kind. You provided her with such a good support, shutting everybody up, but you have no idea how she used to “blast” you in the back, when you weren’t looking. If she told us, people she hates( monsters), so much things we don’t even need to know, private information, just imagine what she said in the certain circles, humiliate you in every way possible. We heard so many stories, comments and details about you (her supportive friend). All of the stories about you made us confused, but maybe some of it was just her disgusting imagination. Think about it.
In conclusion I want to say this:
She is trying to hurt us when she writes dirty lies about Ruslan and His family. She needs to stop wasting her time and save that time for “better things”. She will not hurt us more than she already did. She has done “her best”. In addition, I’d like to wish to those, who is or will try to mix Ruslan with dirt, that they would never, ever, go through what Ruslan’s family members have. When His mother is so down emotionally, that she cannot say when it’s day or night. When His brother waits for a phone call from Ruslan each day or evening (as it always was) even that he knows it is not going to happened. When Ruslan’s 3 y.o. nephew grabs ringing phone and thinks it’s Ruslan calling, calling His name. However, how can anyone explains to this little boy that his only uncle has gone forever?
We met Ruslan several times on some holidays or just on weekends. I know him as a very good person. He was visiting his brother and mother several times during every year. And always with his son only. He was very loving father, respectful to his mother. I always was surprised that he was coming without his wife.
ReplyDeleteI met her only once(and hope the last) when we were celebrating The New Year Eve 2010 together.
After I heard that Ruslan was killed at his own house by the police officer, I remembered Sabina’s conversation about her friend who was also a “patient of their clinic”. She was very excited telling everyone that “when she was with her mother the police officer stopped her but didn’t give her a ticket for dropping her mother at wrong place.” I assume IT IS THE SAME POLICE OFFICER, WHO KILLED HER HUSBAND Ruslan(NOT EX-HUSBAND), when Ruslan came home.
Response to “friends and co-workers” of Ruslan Zhgenti:
ReplyDeleteMy name is Mila.
I’m a friend of Ruslan’s parents, and I had known Ruslan since he was 9. His death is a terrible loss for all of us who knew him well. He was a beautiful boy, and he had grown to be a wonderful, honest, and responsible man, and a gentle father. He loved his wife, and his little son who looks so much alike his father.
Ruslan wasn’t a man who can betray anybody, especially his wife and son. He believed and trusted his wife who, in her turn, had lied and cheated behind his back.
Now, you who call yourself Ruslan's friends (why in plural?) are trying hard to make Ruslan’s murder look like his own fault. You are doing everything to vilify him and his grieving family, calling yourself his “friends who loved him” and “who spent most of the waking hours next to him.” God save all of us from friends and wives like the you and your friend Sabina!
As a doctor (dentists should also know it), you don’t have any right to reveal a patient’s diagnosis to anybody else without his/her consent. “He was diagnosed by medical doctor as having bipolar personality” you said. I know who you are, but I want to know who that doctor was. You would never tell me his or her name because there’s no one. You’re a liar. If Ruslan had been diagnosed with manic-depressive illness (bipolar disorder), he wouldn’t work in your office. You, as an owner, would be responsible if anything happened to him or your patients and you would never let him treat your patients. If you really were his friend, as you claim, you had to tell his mother and brother about this terrible illness, but you had never done it. Everything you said in your letter is a dirty lie!
ReplyDeleteSvetlana, Ruslan’s mother, has suffered the worst tragedy possible. Her heart is broken, and still you’re trying to trample it even more with your despicable lies. Trying to protect your friend, Sabina, you make the wonderful man look like a sick, violent, physically and mentally abusive man. You and Sabina are worth each other. You have a lot in common.
In her wallet, Svetlana carries a letter written to her by Sabina less than two years ago. It’s written in Russian, but here’s the word in word translation of an extract from it: “I have an overwhelming desire to tell you about my love… Thank you for all your support and warmth, for your sincerity, and for raising such a wonderful son. ….. Be sure that I love your son very much and will never betray him…”
relatives mad of the dirty one being called a prostitute? I would not do that, prostitute would be a compliment to IT.
ReplyDeleteI see this story ending up on 20/20 or the like. As soon as it matures, and enough curious people gather enough facts. This is national news worthy. It's more than obvious through even circumstantial evidence that this was an ambush and he was waiting for the husband to arrive.
ReplyDeleteMost definitely... this is coming to a High definition TV near you!
Hey Anonymous, You are not that anonymous. You sound like someone we know.
ReplyDeleteCop shoots four times, once in the head. That is pure murder.
ReplyDeleteWell,Here i am again. Try to find the truth.
ReplyDeleteSo, one on the early comments, dated 10/14/2010, stated Ruslan, snuck in the house and point his gun to his ex wifes head. If that is the true fact, how come his wife never mentioned that when she was interviewed on 9/18/2010 AT Henderson PD by Mitchell and Hosaka, two detectives, who investigated this murder???
and bi-polar accusations? that rumor of Ruslan, have that were never caught police attention.
And it's not all, more info coming up............
By the way, the BS about gun stuck in the head was spead among Ruslan's co-workers as well.
Timur.
Hello everyone, Timur is here, again.
ReplyDeleteThere was a comment, dated 10/03/2010. It said:
"I'm writing on behalf of those people who loved Ruslan as a brother, who spend
most of the waking hours next to him, those who he had been put in tears on multiple
occasions, those who tolerated him because we knew he was diagnosed by medical
doctor as having bipolar personality and were hoping he'll get medical help".
Well, so touchy, hard to hold tears. Yea right.
However, exact same person, who wrote on behalf of Ruslan's friends ( what friends?????), also said that if she got to choose, she would still want Ruslan to be dead, when interviewed by Mitchell and Hosaka at Police dept. day after Ruslan was murdered. Wow, that would be strange choice. Why she said that? According to her and her friend "the shrink", Ruslan had bipolar disorder aka epilepsy. Isn't that strange, that she could allow such a dangerous, to others, person/assistant work on patients and using sharp tools while do that. She said Ruslan was taking pills, which calmed Him down. Well, Ruslan did take those pills, but only once. Why? Because they( meaning his "friends" who spent waking hours with Him)were the only creatures, who said this crap. They try to make Ruslan believe, that He is sick, to keep Him away from their dirty activities, which were taking place behind Ruslan's back.
Thats all for today.

ReplyDeleteI will be short today, but that doesnt mean I will stop posting anytime soon. I am collecting all peices of the puzzle, and later, I will provide the whole world with complete and true story of what went on on 09/17/2010. I WILL give all names, actual names, of everyone involved. However, today I want to say this;
From day 1 I was trying to find out, and then figure out WHY Ruslan went to his house that night? And now I know that He was HELPED with making that desicion, which costed Him his life.
Thats all for today.

Ruslan is my former classmate (college mate). I am very devastated to hear the news that he was killed. It is horrifying to know that a wonderful young man who was a brilliant student lost his life this way. God bless your soul, Ruslan, or like we say in Russian, "Tsarstvo tebe nebesnoe."
