A grand jury in Walker County on Tuesday indicted Sam Parker for the murder of his long-missing wife, Theresa Parker. True bills were returned on the four charges the former LaFayette Police sergeant faces - murder, making false statements, computer invasion of privacy, and violation of oath by a public officer, the Walker County Messenger reported. Parker was taken before Walker County Magistrate Judge Jerry Day Tuesday afternoon for arraignment. No trial date has been set, and an out-of-county judge will have to be assigned to the case. Parker early was denied bond and he has been held since his arrest. He could again request bond from the judge assigned to the case. Ms. Parker, who was a Walker County 911 dispatcher, has been missing since March of last year. The couple was going through a divorce at the time. There have been widespread searches to find the body. Parker has denied involvement in the murder of his estranged wife.
