Vanaman's lawyers given more time to get report for murder trial

BRIDGETON — Attorneys for a Millville police sergeant [Robert Vanaman] charged with killing his wife [Barbara Vanaman] met briefly with prosecutors Monday afternoon to discuss the ongoing exchange of evidence for trial... At issue was a report from a biomechanical engineer who Vanaman's attorneys hired to rebut expert testimony they believe will be introduced by the state. According to [Vanaman's attorney Joseph] O'Neill, the expert had not yet had time to prepare the report because of travels to the Middle East. [Superior Court Judge Walter] Marshall continued the pre-trial conference to Oct. 27 to give O'Neill enough time to secure the report...
