ST. PETERSBURG - Myron Stenhouse called 911 this afternoon and told police something had happened to his wife. Police say that something was that Stenhouse had shot her to death. He has since been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. During the 911 call, the 45-year-old Stenhouse mentioned a knife, put down the phone and left an open line, police say. A male voice could be heard in the background. Then Stenhouse got back on the line "and said something about his wife 'laying on the floor'"... He said he wanted the police to come out,'' said police spokesman Bill Proffitt. "He didn't say why. And then the line went open for a while. Then he came back to the line and made some kind of bizarre statement. And then the line went open again." Stenhouse, 45, shot his estranged wife, Hunter Stenhouse, to death at his house... Hunter Stenhouse, 35, of Brandon, was dead inside the home. She had suffered a gunshot wound to her upper body... ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- A St. Petersburg man called 911 after he shot and killed his estranged wife while their young daughter was home... When officers arrived at Stenhouse's home on 6236 20th Way South, Stenhouse was standing in his driveway, holding his 14-month old daughter, detectives said. "He was very distraught. He was very upset. You could tell he was very taken-aback by the whole situation." said a neighbor. They then went inside the home and found the body of his estranged wife Hunter Kelli Stenhouse, dead from a gunshot wound to the chest. A semi-automatic weapon was recovered from the home... Neighbors told ABC Action News that the Stenhouse's were sharing custody of their daughter and were working on their marriage, spending time together on the weekends. According to St. Pete Police spokesman Bill Proffitt, she had brought their daughter to his home to switch custody. The saddest part of this whole thing is that her daughter will never know how kind and incredible her mother was first hand. There was never a time I ever did not see her with a smile on her face. She was the most selfless person I have ever met and will be missed by so many. For Myron I did not know him but what I do know is there was no reason for this. You are waiting for the whole story?? He is 240 lbs she was maybe 135 if that. Who had a gun and a great aim? ReplyDeleteI would like to say thank you to all the wonderful comments about Hunter. I would also like to thank the blog author for making it public about domestic violence. It doesn't matter what the story is, nothing is reason enough to take a human life. This has not just affected the three involved, but all of us. We are all upset and angry. All we can do is pray that Hunter's daughter will be taken good care of and that there is someone around to tell her the truth about her mom and the situation when the time comes.

She was not only a teacher to so many students who loved her, but a friend, who made us smile and rejoice in life. She was always showing all of us the pictures of her precious daughter, recently one of her walking, and I will never forget the smile on that baby's face!!

ReplyDeleteMyron is my uncle and I know how good of a person he really is and how much he loves his daughter! Hunter was also a wonderful person and a great mother, this is a true tragedy. Now their poor daughter has neither of her parents to help guide her through life, but an amazing family to help her find her way. We will be here for her in every way possible!

To the person who would like to hear the full story well lets see one has a gun and another is dead. I truely hope our judical system prevails and gives Myron what he deserves, but if not our Lord will for vengence is in the hands of our Lord. ReplyDeleteFor those of you who want to know what Hunter was like, she was giddie, beautiful, bubbly, full of life and extremely smart. I think she had a photographic memory. She loved whole heartedly and unconditionally. She was the most giving of herself and unselfish person I will probably ever know. Hunter had a soft heart for animals and years ago when I was with her she kept several different pets including rats, "rats" just becaused they were injured and she cared for every living creature. She will always be remembered as a warm, friendly and approachable person. Hunter was the kind of person you just couldn't help but fall in love with. She will always be the one that got away. She will forever be missed and loved. My great regret is that I didn't get to say goodbye to her. God bless Hunter, her little girl, and her family.

Please post my comment…this guy is unstable (obsessive especially when it came to his ex-wives and girlfriends) and paranoid as they come (thought people were always out to get him). How he received a firearm is why the USA needs better gun control laws. But then on the other hand he was sly as a fox, hiding money during divorces and getting total disability compensation from the government by defrauding the system. Look into his high school and military back ground and Stevie Wonder could see this tragedy was bound to happen. I feel for Hunter that their paths had to cross.

ReplyDeleteI just came across this today. My heart broke for this lady and her daughter. I knew Myron, we dated for a while and then became friendly. We had a breakup that was horrible!! After many years passing we ended up chatting every now and again. I knew so much about this relationship in speaking with him and now am thinking how did it get to this? But being on the other end I can see how it did. Myron had some issues. He also could be very loving and nurturing. I'm sure that's what attracted her to him. This was not a cop that shot her, this was a person with some mental and emotional issues. Just as there are teachers, doctors and lawyers with such. It is unfortunate that he went so long without getting the help he needed because he did have the potential to be a very good person. I know that he had therapy for years and its unfortunate that it did not help him with his issues before he encountered her. My heart aches because I realize how close I came to being a victim. My heart goes out to his Child(ren) he really did love them all, his family, Hunter's family and all who knew her. Right now I'm crying inside. I wish someone had been able to reach him!!

ReplyDeleteAlmost 5 years... How time flies. Still on my mind, always in my heart. Hunter, you were a profound influence in my life. How wonderful it was to have been with and know someone so pure of heart, loving and kind. A short story for all of her friends and family. I think of her every day and we had a lot of funny moments but the one that really stands out and I will never forget is a time I started getting sick. Hunter being the caring and nurturing kind says, "Hey I have something for that". She goes to the medicine cabinet and comes back with a bottle of liquid echinacea. She says, "Ok now open up and I'll spray it". Little did I know that the next 15 minutes of my life would be so terrifying and funny at the same time. Me, trying to be funny, opened my mouth, stuck my tongue out and said, "Aaaah", as if I were in the docs office being examined. Well Hunter pushed on that spray bottle and let it fly and it didn't come out in a spray mist. It came out in one hard tight stream and hit the back of my throat and splashed down into my upper chest. OMG!!! I instantly started gagging for air, not being able to breath. This went on for what seemed an eternity and I litterally could not get a breath of air. I had coughed all the air out of my lungs. Hunter was obviously scarerd about what she was seeing and she was encouraging me to breath. Just when I though I was gonna pass out from not being able to breath my bodys reflex took over and I was able to get just enough air in to my lings to give one really strong cough. From that point I was in a coughing fit for the next several minutes. My eyes were watering, my face was red and I was exhausted from coughing so much. When I finally stopped I said, "What the heck was in that?" Hunter paused for a couple of seconds, thin grinned and said, "Cough medicine". She started laughing so hard she was tearing up with stomach cramps!! I had never seen her laugh so hard. I think about that moment all the time and as bad as it was while going through it, it was so worth it because I will always have the image of Hunter rolling around on the floor, laughing until she cried. She darn near killed me trying to help me and I will always be grateful for the moments we had. I'll always hold you dear to my heart Hunter. Love you.......
