[Excerpts] A Northern Kentucky firefighter and EMT remains behind bars charged with attempted murder.
Independence police arrested Richard Noah Jr. Wednesday evening.
Police say they were called to a domestic violence incident involving his wife... Noah is currently in the Kenton County Jail on a $200,000 bond... The case remains under investigation by the Independence Police Department. [Full article here]

[Excerpts] An Independence firefighter was charged Wednesday with trying to kill his wife... Richard Noah, 38, of Independence is charged with attempted murder related to a domestic situation at his home at about 3:45 a.m. Monday, said David Nichols, assistant Independence police chief... He has been serving since May 21, 2003. She told police her husband tried to suffocate her with cellophane wrapping and bed pillows, according to the police report. [Excerpts] ...[Independence firefighter Richard Noah] was being held Thursday at the Kenton County Jail on $200,000 bond... Noah's wife, Tiffany, called 911 early Monday... When police arrived they found Tiffany Noah outside the home... Tiffany Noah, 34, told police her husband tried to suffocate her with cellophane wrapping and bed pillows, according to the police report. The couple got into a struggle and both suffered minor injuries. They were both taken to area hospitals. Noah's wife was treated and released. Noah was arrested about 5 p.m. Wednesday after he was released from the hospital... Tiffany Noah was granted an emergency protection order against her husband, court records show. He was ordered to stay 500 feet away from her, move out of their home and she was given temporary custody. Her application for the order states that her husband tried to suffocate her for 20 to 30 minutes while their 12-year-old child watched. The couple was married in May 1996, according to state records... "Rich Noah while employed here was an above-average employee," Messingschlager said. "This is not the Rich Noah we all know and worked with the past six years. The department as well as the community is in shock over this news. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family." On Thursday, the fire department went to Noah's jail cell and demanded, then accepted his resignation... "We did locate a piece of plastic, which I would refer to in a generic term as cellophane wrapping, that allegedly was used in an attempt to suffocate her," said Independence assistant police chief David Nichols.
