[Excerpts] FORT WAYNE - Domestic battery charges against a former Warsaw probationary police officer have been declined by the Allen County Prosecutor's Office... DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS A CRIME, NOT JUST A BAD CAREER MOVE. BECAUSE HE WILL NOT BE CHARGED, IF JUST-FIRED WARSAW POLICE OFFICER JOSEPH KLAEHN COMMITS A DOMESTIC ASSAULT IN THE FUTURE IT WILL TECHNICALLY BE A FIRST OFFENSE. IF HE APPLIES FOR A LAW ENFORCEMENT JOB THERE WILL BE NOTHING THAT PREVENTS HIS BEING HIRED. OFTEN THE LOGIC GOES - HE LOST HIS JOB, THAT'S ENOUGH. BUT IT'S APPLE'S AND ORANGES.

NOT ONLY IS THE VICTIM'S SAFETY NOT MENTIONED, OR WHAT IF ANY SERVICES AND SAFETY WERE OFFERED HER - BUT THERE IS NO MENTION OF WHETHER OR NOT HER FACE BORE EVIDENCE. WHY?
