[Excerpts] A man who was shot by his wife, an off-duty police officer, after he pulled out a gun and fired at a male acquaintance of the woman at the couple’s home early Friday on the Far South Side has been charged. Andrew Williams, 46, of the 11600 block of South Elizabeth Street, was charged with Friday at 9:15 p.m. with felony reckless discharge of a firearm and misdemeanor domestic battery, according to police.... the husband shot at the male acquaintance of an off-duty officer, prompting his his wife to return fire -- striking her husband in the arm, according to a police News Affairs release, which described the event as a “domestic incident”... Initial reports indicated shots were fired by an intruder and police also discharged a weapon during a police involved shooting in the 11600 block of South Elizabeth Street... “The fire department was never dispatched for medical transports,’’ according to Chicago Fire Department Media Affairs spokesman Larry Langford...
