Oxford police officer Bill Hancock's wife Tabatha and 8 month-old son Logan are being memorialized with a need-based scholarship for students at the University of West Georgia. Tabatha and Logan were slain in Officer Hancock's double murder-sucide, July 20th 2010. Called the “Tabatha & Logan Hancock Memorial Scholarship,” the fund will be made available to any student, regardless of classification or major. Tabatha’s younger sister, Heather Henderson, said the scholarship has been part of the family’s healing process. “I think this is something she (Tabatha) would be proud of,” she said. “She was a wonderful person and an awesome mother, and we are thankful that someone will receive this scholarship in Tabatha and Logan’s memory. Absent from the scholarship’s official title is the name of Tabatha’s husband.
