His wife, whose name was not released, alleged spousal abuse... Her allegations fall under a section of the Family Court code alleging a family offense, and it doesn't specify charges...

[Excerpts] An Albany County correction officer has been arrested following a report of spousal abuse. Peter J. Moffre, 44, of Westerlo, was arrested ot his home Tuesday, the Albany County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday. The complaint was filed in Albany County Family Court by Moffre's estranged wife... [Excerpts] A veteran correction officer at the Albany County jail spent a night where he works and was suspended without pay after a domestic violence incident... His wife, whose name was not released, alleged spousal abuse... Her allegations fall under a section of the Family Court code alleging a family offense, and it doesn't specify charges... The couple is estranged, the undersheriff said, but occupy the same residence... Moffre was released on his own recognizance pending further court appearances. The judge issued an order of protection banning Moffre from the home and from communicating with his spouse... He was suspended without pay for 30 days after which sheriff's officials will decide whether to allow him to return to work or keep him on suspension. [Full article here]
