...Vester was hired by the Medina Police Department in August 2009... He worked at the Corinth, Miss., Police Department from April 2009 until he was hired in Medina. He had previously worked at the Humboldt Police Department from May 2002 to February of 2004. According to his application, he resigned from the department for personal reasons...

[Excerpts] A Medina police officer has been released from jail on bond after being charged with domestic assault, according to Gibson County Sheriff Chuck Arnold. Kevin Dewayne Vester, 38, of Medina, got into an argument at the home where he was living... Vester was trying to leave the house, and the argument was over whether he should drive because he had been drinking... Witness statements supported the accusation of domestic violence, according to the investigators in the case... Vester was arrested Monday evening... He has been released on $1,500 bond and is scheduled to be in court on Sept. 1. Arnold said the Sheriff's Department is handling the investigation at the request of Medina Police Chief Chad Lowery... [Excerpts] The Medina police officer charged with domestic assault told investigators he may have assaulted a woman, but he does not remember doing it, according to an affidavit in the case. Kevin Dwayne Vester, 38, also told investigators he was drinking before the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Monday, the affidavit says... Vester gave investigators a taped statement on Tuesday, saying he had been drinking but did not remember assaulting [X], the affidavit says... Medina Chief Chad Lowery said Vester has been placed on administrative leave, but he has not decided whether it will be paid or unpaid leave... Vester was hired by the Medina Police Department in August 2009, according to his employee file. He worked at the Corinth, Miss., Police Department from April 2009 until he was hired in Medina.
